In the late 1930’s Rena Dell Windham was given a wedding gift of $75. With that $75, Rena Dell purchased what is now 1100 Beck Ave. Eventually Mrs. Windham’s husband Tony and his father “Pap,” built and opened their first seafood restaurant and oyster bar known as “Windham and Son’s”.
As time passed, a third generation on joined the family tradition. Mitch Holman and his father Pete continued in the restaurant business. In 1967, Captain Mitch and Pete established the name, Capt’s Table Fish House Restaurant. The restaurant was located in the heart of Panama City Beach, on the corner of Front Beach and Middle Beach Road. Little did the Holman family know, they were about to start what is now one of the few Old Florida Fish Houses left.
In 1993, our family restaurant was lost to a fire. Shortly after, Capt. Mitch started his own commercial fishing fleet. With hard work and dedication, and the same vision his grandmother had, Mitch reopened the family restaurant where it all began, in St. Andrews.
Greeting locals and tourists with a smile, a handshake, and fresh caught southern seafood is what The Capt’s Table is all about.
